ABOUT SCOTT BROMANDER

Educator and Developer

My name is Scott Bromander and I am an Educator and Developer based in Kansas City, Missouri (but also have lived in Phoenix, AZ and Minneapolis, MN within the past year). My career has been focused on both technology and people. These passions have given me the opportunity to work with amazing companies and equally amazing individuals.

Currently, I am a software engineer for The Nerdery while also working on my first book “Furious Learning”. It is a book about what I have learned working deep inside the immersive bootcamp industry.

Before re-joining The Nerdery, I left a Head of Education position at Grand Canyon University (the largest Christian University globally). There I launched their new Software Development bootcamp focused on full-stack Java Development.

I have also been the Principle Director of Programs for Prime Digital Academy. There I helped develop the team of amazing educators and develop the curriculum which helps learners gain entry level positions are software developers. This was a position that was (and still is) very near and dear to me.

The purpose of this site is to have an aggregate of things I am working on. A place to centralize my work and “Speak” about things I have learned.

DEVELOPMENT

VR | AR | MR , Web , and Game Development

I started my development career focused on Game Development. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Game Design and Development in 2007. From there, I shifted focus on making interactive web based experiences with Flash. With Flash I was able to convert my skills from focusing on games, to focusing on Web Development as a practice. While at the Nerdery, I had the opportunity to work with some of the greatest developers in the world.

The Nerdery leadership founded Prime Academy, and in the process, asked me if I would be interested in helping them. Teaching is the best form of learning and retention. The experience at Prime has only help me prefect my own personal learning strategies. Since I have started there, I have been learning technology at an exponential rate.
